The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Book Review
With all the marketing surrounding this book and then the film I had decided to give it a miss for a while. That was until my friend told me I simply had to read the book whilst plonking the book in my palms. "But I don't do crime fiction" I protested. And so I huffed and I puffed, then I started to read. Like with my books I carry them around the streets of London in my handbag grabbing 20 mins on the tube here and there trying to remember where I'd got to. After 2 days of struggling to read this 300 page book which seemed to be taking a while to get going, I decided to clear my evening and sit in my sunny bay window and read. So, I read, and I read, the sun went down and my reading lamp came on. Five hours later and with a rumbling tummy I had finished the book. During those five hours the book had made me experience many emotions suspense, disgust, intrigue, and some laughter and by the end I felt I had righted a few wrongs. I won't tell you the story or indeed spoil the ending but it was a very good book which I was keen for others to enjoy. The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a bleak tale with no clean cut heroes and in that seems to be a reflection of life. I haven't yet read the books which follow this but they are indeed on my list.
