Today marks the start of February and with every February comes V-Day. Valentines Day seems to be a little like Marmite; you either love it or hate it. I must admit to have never been swept up in the commercial romance of Valentines but I do think, however, it’s an opportunity to add a little of the (possibly lost) romance back into a relationship with a view to continue in this vein for the rest of the year.
What is romance?
Romance doesn’t have to be overstated gestures of love declarations. It can be simple things like a little hand written love note tucked into your wallet, a candle light meal mid-week (same mid-week meal but with a few candles), a homemade cookie hidden in your lunch box. Romance requires little effort and very little cost. What little things you can do to tell that special person that you are thinking about them? With it being particularly cold outside at the moment why not pop his/her scarf on the radiator in the morning so it’s nice and toasty for them when they leave the house. Oh, don’t forget to tell them where their scarf is!
For the next two weeks my posts will be of a romantic nature (of sorts), I hope it doesn't put the non romantic souls out there off, but then again they may be just what you need...... You should follow me on twitter here
